What is Your WHY…With the B.O.S.S. Wealth Plan?

Yesterday was the end of an era for our family. Our last surviving grandparent passed away at the age of 95. Grandma Shaw lived a full life, and shared many lessons with us over those years.
The next few days will be a little more introspective than normal…filled with memories, and thoughts of her, and experiences we shared together. Birthday’s, baptisms, graduations, weddings and other important events, she has always been around to share them with. Although I obviously don’t remember, she was even the one who potty trained me, when Ryan was born.
It’s the Feeling That Matters…
Maya Angelou once said:
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
It was no different with grandma Shaw. Over lunch today, Ryan and I talked about some of the memories that we have of her. Most surrounded some event, but true to Maya Angelou’s quote, we remembered mostly how those events and people in those events made us feel.
As a tie to our Swedish ancestry, grandma, used to make us “Swedish pancakes” (a type of crepe) for breakfast when we would have a “cousin sleepover” in her home.
The tradition continued while growing up with mom making us breakfast on special occasions, such as a birthday, or the first day of school.
Now with our individual families, we continue on with this same tradition in our family, with our children.
Again, it is not the flour or the eggs, or even the day that makes it special, but the emotion that you feel surrounding the day or event.
